The Architecture of the Ocean
Coral reef near Namena Island, Fiji. January 2002. Mount Mutiny pinnacle     December 30, 2001     Bligh Water   85 feet deep

The top of this seamount was dissected by natural forces into a series of chambers and passageways. Despite the water clarity, the light environment during the dive is also dissected and turbulent, maybe because the light from the sun is entering the ocean at a low, glancing angle and the nutrient particles suspended within the sea are bouncing the light around like crazy. By the time of the second dive at 11:30 AM, their is a beautiful, crisp light that highlights the sea life.
